The Panic Disorder Severity Scale is designed to be a simple way of measuring the severity of Panic Disorder.

For PATIENTS with a panic disorder, the Panic Disorder Severity Scale can be calculated and repeated over time to monitor change.

Where PATIENTS are not agoraphobic, score ranges correspond with:

0 - 1Normal
2 - 5Borderline
6 - 9Slightly ill
10 - 13Moderately ill
14+Markedly ill

For agoraphobic PATIENTS, score ranges correspond with:

0 - 2Normal
3 - 7Borderline
8 - 10Slightly ill
11 - 15Moderately ill
16+Markedly ill

The recommended cut off score for the Panic Disorder Severity Scale is 8, so a PERSON scoring 8 or above will be considered to be at "caseness".
